The DIERS 4D gait analysis is one of the most advanced biomechanical measurement systems in the world. At our practice in Palma de Mallorca, we simultaneously assess multiple aspects of your musculoskeletal system:
- 3D spinal measurement — Using raster stereography (light projection), the entire spine is mapped in three dimensions without any radiation
- Posture analysis — Detection of scoliosis, pelvic tilt, shoulder asymmetry and vertebral blockages
- Dynamic gait analysis — Recording of your gait pattern in 4D (three spatial dimensions plus time)
- Pedography — Measurement of plantar pressure distribution during standing and walking

The combination of these measurements provides a comprehensive picture of your biomechanics — from the feet through the knees and pelvis up to the cervical spine.
The gait analysis at our practice in Palma de Mallorca follows this process:
- Preparation — You remove your upper clothing (the back must be visible) and stand barefoot on the measurement platform.
- Static measurement — A light pattern is projected onto your back and the 3D shape of the spine is captured.
- Dynamic measurement — You walk several times across the pressure measurement plate. The system records your footprints and gait pattern.
- Analysis — The software generates colour maps and 3D models of your posture and pressure distribution.
- Consultation — Dr. Diedrich explains all findings in English and creates a personalised treatment plan.
The entire examination takes approximately 20-30 minutes and is completely painless and radiation-free. Where needed, custom orthotics can be prescribed immediately afterwards.
