Editorial & Medical Review Policy
How we write, review and update the medical content on this site.
Authorship and medical review
All medical content on this site is written and reviewed by Dr. med. Heiko Miguel Diedrich, Specialist in Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery (Facharzt für Orthopädie und Unfallchirurgie, Ärztekammer Nordrhein, Germany), licensed in Spain at the Colegio Oficial de Médicos de las Islas Baleares (No. 070713471). Additional qualifications: University Diploma in Sports Science (Diplom-Sportlehrer), Sports Medicine, Manual Medicine, Nutritional Medicine and Orthomolecular Medicine.
Sources and references
Clinical articles on this site are based, where applicable, on guidelines and systematic reviews from recognised medical bodies:
- NICE – National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (UK)
- Cochrane Library – systematic reviews
- AAOS – American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons
- AWMF – German guideline registry (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Wissenschaftlichen Medizinischen Fachgesellschaften)
- DGOU – German Society for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery
- SECOT – Spanish Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology
Update cadence
Each article carries a date of last review. We review content at least every 12 months and whenever clinical recommendations change materially. Treatment and diagnostic pages are reviewed more frequently.
Last full site review: 2026-04-29.
No absolute claims
We avoid terms such as "guaranteed", "completely safe" or generic success-rate figures without clinical context. Each patient and each indication is individual; outcomes vary. Possible complications, contraindications and limitations of every treatment are discussed during consultation.
Conflicts of interest
Dr. Diedrich's practice receives no funding from medical-device manufacturers or pharmaceutical companies in exchange for editorial coverage. The equipment described (SpineMed, whole-body cryotherapy chamber at -110 °C, DEXA, DIERS 4D) is clinical equipment in active use at the practice, not affiliate arrangements.
Patient privacy
Clinical images and case studies are published only with explicit written consent and, where possible, fully anonymised. Personally identifiable data is never published without written authorisation.
Error correction
If you spot a medical or factual inaccuracy on the site, please email info@ortopedia-palma.es. Corrections are documented with the date of change.
This policy applies across all three sites: traumatologo-palma.es, orthopaedie-palma.de and orthopaedic-palma.com.
