Injection Therapy Mallorca Ultrasound
Ultrasound-guided infiltrations in Palma de Mallorca. Precise treatment for joint pain, tendinitis, bursitis. Book your appointment with Dr. Diedrich.
Ultrasound-guided infiltrations allow us to inject medication directly into the affected joint, tendon or bursa with millimetre precision. We use corticosteroids to reduce inflammation or hyaluronic acid to lubricate joints.
Ultrasound guidance ensures the medication reaches exactly where it is needed, increasing effectiveness and reducing risks compared to blind injections.
We locate the exact point using ultrasound. The skin is disinfected and local anaesthesia is applied. We insert the needle under real-time ultrasound visualisation and inject the medication. The procedure takes 2-3 minutes.
You can resume normal activities immediately. We recommend avoiding intense physical activity for 24-48 hours after the injection.
Corticosteroid infiltrations relieve pain within 24-48 hours. Hyaluronic acid gradually improves mobility over 2-4 weeks. Effects last 3-6 months. When combined with physiotherapy, results are more long-lasting.

Ultrasound allows real-time visualisation of the needle, ensuring the medication reaches exactly where it is needed. This increases effectiveness and reduces risks compared to blind infiltrations.

Non-Surgical Alternative
Infiltrations are part of our conservative treatment philosophy. Our goal is to avoid surgery whenever possible. Infiltrations can break the cycle of inflammation and pain, allowing natural healing and rehabilitation to take effect. Combined with PRP therapy or cryotherapy, results can be even more effective.
